|
|
I am a single woman looking for a rental apartment with upscale amenities in a city that is in a warm climate. I like life-long learning activities, and a good exercise and healthy dining. Any suggestions. I just came from a place called Alta Walk in Durham. It was nice but not to easy to get to Duke with the classes for seniors there.
The place was new and clean, but a hassle for me to rent furniture, I do not have mine with me now. I am in a furnished condo in St. Pete Fl. I have a house in Mass. |

|

Good question. I think there are a lot of people in similar circumstances where a rental makes sense. The best reason for a rental is that it lets you sample an area without making a huge financial commitment. Plus it is easier than buying, and certainly involves plunking down a lot less money.
That being said, finding a rental isn't always that easy. Here are some general tips:
- Narrow down where you want to live by state first (explore some of the towns at Topretirements to help)
- Use the Search box at Topretirements. If you type in "rental" or "rent" or "condo" you will get some results. In the "Private Communities" section all of the ones listed have these "terms" in their listings. So you can follow up with them to find out more.
- Go to Craigslist.com by town or region. They have lots of rental listings
- Search on google for "condo rentals in <name of town>"
- Find the Chamber of Commerce by town and look for and contact realtors
- Search for active adult communities (if that's where you want to live) and contact realtors or Home Owners Associations. These days there are lots of people who can't sell their unit who would love to rent it out.
Good luck, and let us know how you do! |
