How can i narrow down the list of 55+ communities

Question: Thank you for your newsletter. I have an important question....is there any way to put in the things I am looking for in a +55 retirement community without having to weed through thousands?

Response: Good question (i will post it anonymously so others can benefit from it).

The Top and Showcase listings at Topretirements have their amenities inserted into a database. So you can use advanced search from the "Find a Community" http://www.topretirements.com/Browse.html page to select those. (look for "Search 55+ communities by amenities" at the bottom of the page)

But you can find the rest by using either of our search boxes, the one on the top of the page or the google one at the bottom. Put in the things you are looking for and see what comes up. it isn't perfect, but works pretty well most of the time. Of course if you go to the State Directories of Active communities and narrow down your search by city, the task is easier as well.
