We see a lot of trepidation out there from people who are about to retire - and there should be! If your life has been your work, the day after you lug all your family photos and keepsakes back from the office you are about to face some very big issues.
Please share your experiences here with the rest of us - what worked, what didn't work - what would you do differently?
I think i am ready to retire. But i am worried that i have too many possible directions to go in. For years i have been thinking - i'll do this, I'll do that. Now that the day is coming, how can i figure out my priorities.
Make a list. Actually make several lists. What would you like to do that's fun before you leave the planet. What would you like to do that's worthwhile. What do you want to do with your life-partner, children, grand-children, friends. Then prioritize the lists, and start checking them off. You probably won't accomplish everything, but you will do something!
