|
|
Remember when your teacher asked you to talk about your vacation? Here's your chance again, and this time you could win $100 instead of a holy card or gold star. Post your short travelogue about the retirement places you visited on this thread. We will select the one that we think was the most interesting/useful, and send you $100!
Please, please - don't make them too long - we want the good stuff, not everything! Ideally you will tell everyone about the towns and communities you visited - what you liked and didn't like. And if we haven't reviewed the town yet, you can add that in our http://www.topretirements.com/Community.html. Add Your Community section.
Entries must be made by August 29, 2008 to be eligible. Good luck!

The Starbright Theater, hue-tinted boulders in back yards, casinos, fantastic restaurants, parades, mountains kissing deserts, friendly folks, The Nevada Ballet, symphonies, umpteen golf courses, acting classes, writing groups, etc...
I could go on....
Both my husband and I are delighted with Summerlin, NV....especially "Sun City."
Any activity you have ever dreamed of or hobby you wish to pursue is right there.
Twelve miles west of The Strip, this place is incredible.
You bet this is where we want to retire soon!

I really like some of the small towns in North Carolina. There is a group of them in the west like Mount Airy and Franklin that have a better summer climate than other parts of the state. Pretty scenery and small town ambience because a lot of retirees are headed here.
The other small town (you see my bias) that i really like is Beaufort, NC. There is also a Beaufort SC (pronounced B'yoofort), which ain't too bad either. But Beaufort NC is on a cute harbor, great shops, library, restaurants, and you can walk anywhere if you live in town. |
