|

| My wife and I are both avid tennis players and plan to play well into retirement (my USTA rank is 4.0 and hers is 3.5). We feel ambivalent about golf so could take it or leave it. We're currently on a tour of the NC/TN area and every place we see seems to be geared towards golf with tennis as an after-thought. Any suggestions on master planned communities that focus on tennis and have an active player community (not in FL)? Mountains and/or lakes are a plus. |

Good question. I see the same type of phenomenon, but fortunately i like both golf and tennis. It does seem in a lot of places that if the active adult community has both golf and tennis, the golf typically gets the priority and the most participation. But that is not always the case. You almost have to visit the place to verify. I know a lot of places in Florida where both sports are very strong.
You might try the NC Tennis Association at http://www.nctennis.com/contentdetail.asp?ContentID=37 i searched on google for tennis communities in nc but didnt come up with much. But any of the very largest communities (Sun City, Del Webb) will have strong tennis programs. Good luck - maybe we can get a match up! |
