I love Flagstaff and visited it many times while I lived in Phoenix. People should be aware that it's a small college and tourist town. Activities for seniors are limited and life is expensive, the highest in the state. Scenery is gorgeous and the winter is not too bad most of the time...you know...it's dry cold! You can catch some good jazz shows but the ambiance in most clubs cater to NAU students. NAU has one of the best Jazz programs in the US and sometimes you can catch student performances of various music genre. Traffic can be a bear most of the year because Flagstaff is the gate to the Grand Canyon. For those with allergies, the pines can be a source of discomfort.
