PLEASE what do you think of Grand Junction for retirement

I noticed there was one post asking what people thought of Grand Junction, CO as a retirement community but there was not 1 reply. Someone must have an opinion and I'd like to hear it as I'm thinking of Grand Junction as a retirement choice.

GJ has the merit of being less expensive than Boulder or Denver. But if you decide to live here be prepared for a small town experience. People used to a small city might feel isolated. There isn't a whole lot to do other than outdoor recreation. Although we're the biggest town in the area folks who need a really big shopping fix might have to drive 4 hours to Denver. But if you like outdoors,small towns, and need to feel like you are near the wild, Grand Junction will fit the bill nicely.
