We live in Williamsburg, VA. Recently we visited family in Connecticut and fell in love with Madison. My wife was brought up in Meriden and misses her family. I'm 79 and she is 75, so we are considering moving back north to be near family. Are there any rental retirement communities in the shoreline area? We do not plan to buy again.

Interesting that you are familiar with Madison - it's a great town!

There are 2 CCRCs in the area - Essex Meadows in Essex and Evergreen Woods in Branford. Not too many 55+ communities, but plenty of condos and rentals that in practice are mostly 55+. I recommend contacting a realtor to find those. Vicki Littell, Sue Clifford, and Todd Gould are 3 realtors that are professional and friendly.I know a lot more too!
