To me the great thing about Flagstaff Arizona is that it has its roots in a real community. Sure it has fabulous scenery and great recreation, located within a short drive of many of the nation's top National Parks. Add to that a great climate. But more than that it has a diverse community, from native americans to college students to wealthy folks from Phoenix escaping on the weekends. So even if you choose to live in an active adult community, you still have the chance to run up against someone who isn't a close copy of yourself. My bias.
