The day after you retire from your job is going to be an interesting one. Your best hope is that a year later you find your life better, more fulfilled than when you were working. Please share your strategies for staying busy and fufilled.

i was apprehensive about what would happen when i didnt have a job that kept me engaged most of my waking hours and often into the night. Now, a year and a half later, the anxiety level is down and the activity is up. I volunteer to build support for a building campaign for a new library which is a challenging project. Was just nominated to be chair of a senior citizen tax relief committee which provides a rare opportunity at creating policy. Am a very active member of council at our church. Plus i am starting an online business that is starting to do well. My tennis game is getting better, too.

One worry i had that hasn't been as i bad as i thought it might be. My concern was that i might not have a plan for volunteering and then be caught up in projects i didnt really care about. Seems like me and a lot of people know by now when to say yes and when to say no. we'll see!
