There is a fascinating article at Topeldercares about new high tech devices that can make it easier (and possible) for older seniors to live in their own homes. It also reviews a great article in Buildingonline.com on a senior demonstration home. Although many baby boomers will think they don't need any of these devices, some of the lower tech solutions might make a lot of sense right now - like one-level floors, LED lighting, on demand water heating, properly positioned appliances, and central information/control systems.
