My husband and I have been researching for the past 8 years. He's 60 and am 55. After visiting SC - Aiken, Greenville, NC - Pinehurst, Asheville, Charlotte, and TN - Maryville, Loudon (Tellico Village), we have decided to give it try in TN - Tellico Village.

We loved the slightly cooler air in TN. Also, we loved being near a lake, with a lot of amenities included. This area is near Knoxville, which is a large enough city for hus.

I plan to find a teaching job first (hopefully), then we will make our move.

Loudon looks nice. If you like to golf, have you taken a look at Fairfield Glade, just outside Crossville TN? That development also has a couple lakes, lots of ammenities, and SIX 18 hole golf courses. I think the climate is also a few degrees more mild. A little farther from Knoxville, though.

Congrats on your decision to look in eastern tenn. There are some very nice places in the Knoxville area as you have found out. Tellico Village and Fairfield Glade both worth checking out. The scenery and the mountains here are just beautiful. Prices pretty attractive as well, since the area is relatively undiscovered compared to western NC.

my husband loves to play Golf, and the place looks good. Can you recommend any house for rent there? I would like to add a bit more description about the house, it should be 1BHK with seperate kitchen and bathroom, we don't need any modular kitchen but it would great if the bathroom contains a 46 wide bathroom vanity.

Hi Elaine. No, I'm afraid I can't recommend any place for rent there. It's just a development I'm interested in as I've been doing my own internet research on where to retire. From another message board, I did get some recommendations of realtors in that area. If you are interested, I can pass those names onto you. I'm sure they could help. You might also see if there's any rental info on their website, I can't remember. I do, however, remember them offering "Stay and Play" packages, those might be more like a week or so, not sure how long you were looking to rent.
