This is a terrific forum. I'm so glad I found Top Retirements.
I am in Massachusetts and starting research for a future move to the US southwest. I'm done with snow!
Right now, my top choice is a 55+ community. I'm done with kids! (just kidding....well not really....)
I've narrowed it down to New Mexico or Arizona. I'm at least a year out before I move, so I have plenty of time to consider the plan.
During my research, adverts for the DelWebb communities keep coming up. What is the overall take on them? Are they worth exploring?
Any thoughts about other larger community developers?
I just finished reading the pros/cons article about buying into a new versus an established community. That had a lot of good things to think about.
Thanks!

Hi Mim.
I don't know if you've read my blog in this forum but Prescott, AZ got some ink and you might want to check it out. They do get a tiny bit of snow in the winter but other than that, the climate looks nice. The one caution that I have, is that a poster in my blog said that Prescott has significant traffic issues.
Good Luck ! |

|
|
This is a question we recently received from a member:
My husband and I just retired. We are looking for a bike-friendly coastal town, on the ocean or gulf that my husband can commute by bike. He has low vision and cannot drive car. Would like to bike to stores etc. need bike paths etc. Prefer North or South Carolina or
Florida. Any suggestions? Thank you. |
