| Here's the problem. I am ready to move somewhere warm, at least for the winter months. I love to play tennis outdoors and down south I could do it whenever i please. Yet my dear hub just won't go for it. He says we can just travel, go on cruises, visit the kids, and go to the city instead. That's all true, but all of that makes me feel like a nomad. And besides that, it still leaves me freezing to death up here in the north, only getting to play tennis once a week (inside, and paying dearly for the privilege). Anybody have any suggestions to help make us both happy? |

I would start by being very clear about your feelings and hopes. Obviously it takes 2 to tango - both of you need to listen well to the other. A compromise might be some trips together - each of you gets to pick where. Perhaps your spouse will warm up to the area once he/she sees it. Or you might learn to appreciate what he/she wants. Worse case scenario - independent trips or vacations that take the edge off.
Good luck - it's a very common problem, but a lot of people have managed to be happy with it. |
