Gulf shores : Alabama

What Gulf Shores is like for active adults
Located on a barrier island in western Alabama, Gulf Shores is an upscale resort and retirement community at the entrance to Mobile Bay. The average age here is 46, well above that for the rest of the state. Part of the attraction is the water and coast - many places to explore in your boat, Gulf State Park, play golf, or enjoy the white sand beaches. Nearby Orange Beach is a similar alternative to Gulf Shores. Fort Morgan is an historic site close by.

Homes are expensive here - in the mid $200's. There are many condos and homes to choose from.

Alabama has an extensive array of great golf courses (369 holes) developed by the state with Robert Trent Jones called the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail - two of them are near to Gulf Shores.
