What Goodyear is like for active adults
Goodyear has been one of the fastest growing cities in Arizona with a 2009 population of 66,000.  It can boast of being the spring training home of 2 major baseball teams (both from Ohio) - the Cleveland Indians and the Cincinatti Reds. Goodyear is one of the farther out towns from Phoenix, developed in part because developers of 55+ communities have moved to find cheaper land in the Arizona desert. Goodyear is west of Phoenix proper, and south and west of Glendale. Two colleges have purchased land in Goodyear for possible future development - Franklin Pierce University and the University of the Incarnate Word.
