The City of Charlottetown is an historic community of over 32,000 people located on the south shore of Prince Edward Island. Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island. It is the "Birthplace of Confederation" after the historic 1864 Charlottetown Conference which led to Confederation. Holland College and the University of Prince Edward Island comprise a green space that surrounds the city. The city itself extends very picturesquely along Charlotte Harbor.
