San Buenaventura is a village near the southern (Pacific) coast of the beautiful and unspoiled country of Costa Rica (San Isidro del General region). This area is near the beach, Ballena National Park, and not far from the regional airport. An active adults community with golf course is being built here called San Buenas.
It is very near the coast and considerable infrastructure is being built here to support an influx of North American retirees. Costa Rica is relatively unspoiled, has a solid economy, and its government is extremely stable and progressive.
Many expatriates come to San Buenaventura and Costa Rica in general for its tropical beauty. Reduced cost of living allows a much grander lifestyle than can be had in the U.S. But the most successful immigrants are those who come because they love the setting and the charm of living in a foreign country.
