Burbank is a fairly large city of just over 100,000 people in Southern California, northeast of Los Angeles.
There are many active adult or over 55 communities in suburbs surrounding the city. Burbank is home to one of the most interesting communities for retired artists in the world, the Burbank Senior Artists Colony (follow the link at right for "Burbank Active Communities"). | What is special about this retirement community |
Burbank is billed as the "Media Capital of the World" because it is home to so many large media companies (such as Walt Disney Co.. Viacom, Warner Bros. Many famous movies have been filmed here. Johnnie Carson's Tonight Show was produced in Burbank. Crime is very low for this size community. Burbank has a special equestrian district which is quite unique. In the Rancho Equestrian District residents are allowed to keep horses in their backyards.
