Chiefland is a small town of 2300 in northern Florida between the Gulf and Gainesville. This part of Florida is not nearly as developed as the southern portions of the state - Chiefland is a small town and somewhat rural. The town was FL Rural Community of the year in 2000. Chiefland Golf & Country Club is in town.

| Prices are low and so is development pressure, at least until now. Chiefland was the Florida Rural Community of the year in 2000. Manatee State Park is nearby. The skies are clear for viewing the stars. |

The July average high is 93, the January avg. high is 69, and the average January low is 43. August is the wettest month with 10" of rain. |
