What Kissimmee is like for active adults
Kissimmee (pronounced Kiss-sim-ee) is a fast growing town south of Orlando in central Florida. The town grew 30% between 2000 and 2008 before cooling off in the real estate bust of the last few years.  Its population is a relatively young one with an average age of 30.  This popular tourist area promises small-town charm  as well as  theme parks, outdoor adventures, challenging golf, and tranquil beach landscapes. The town's Osceola Heritage Park is an event facility featuring a concert arena (Silver Spurs Arena) and professional sports stadium (Osceola County Stadium).

What people are saying about Kissimmee

long time Kissimmee resdient
We moved here 29 years ago. First off, the pronunciation is Kiss -sim - ee, not Kizzme. The bicycling is improving with new bike lanes and trails. Now if the drivers could accept our right to share the road. There are many longer trails relatively close, in Polk City, Orlando, Winter Garden. The proximity to the Orlando airport is a plus. Cocoa Beach is an hour away. I enjoy the Astros spring training but a 10-game plan to the Lightning is also doable. wouldn't want to drive to Tampa 42 times during the season. The Magic are closer, in Orlando and a minor league hockey team is returning there. Editor's note: Thanks for the information! Very useful, we will correct the pronunciation and appreciate the other details - very helpful.

Looking for a place in Kissimmee
I don't know if you can help me or not. I am interested in rental properties around Kissimmee, preferably in a gated 55 plus community. I am not really interested in high end properties, we are mostly looking for affordable accommodations.
