What Lake Mary is like for active adults
Let's start by saying Lake Mary Florida is #4 on Money Magazine's Best Places to Live 2007 list. That list is aimed at a general, not a retirement, audience, but the basic appeal is there to all groups. Lake Mary is particularly suited to people who want to retire to a place where family life and exposure to people of all ages is important. There are also plenty of jobs in town, in fact thousands commute here every day.

Many lakes make for great recreational opportunities.  A great golf course, Timacuan, runs right through the middle of town. Crime is low. The shopping and restaurants are good.

Median home prices were over $300,000 in 2008, making this a very expensive place to retire by Florida standards. There are all kinds of developments, many of them with lakeside living.
