What Mount Dora is like for active adults

Mount Dora exudes a comfortable "Southern" charm and hospitality. This central Florida lakefront community is nestled in gentle hills and orange groves. Its elevation of 184 feet makes it one of the higher communities in Florida, Mount Dora is Florida's equivalent of a mountain top town! It features active shopping, excellent antiquing, a rich cultural life, and recreation. Many festivals and community events attract residents and tourists. Here is what the New York TImes said about Mount Dora in 2011: "... tiny little vintage town with gorgeous Victorian-era homes, great restaurants and a square where they play live music." It also talked about Mount Dora's Live Oak trees and their Spanish Moss, and the Lakeside Inn. Here is an article we wrote about Mount Dora in 2012 - "The Prettiest Town in Florida".
