What Nocatee is like for active adults
Nocatee is a new, master-planned community in northeastern Florida (Ponte Vedra, between Jacksonville and St. Augustine).  About 13,000 homes are planned in at least 8 different communties - some are mixed generations, and at least one (Riverwood) is for active adults 55+.   This community combines one million square feet of retail, four million square feet of office and nine public schools in a  livable environment. Almost two-thirds of the land will be placed in preservation and protected.The overall developer is the PARC Group, Inc.  The Nocatee Town Center is the central shopping and entertainment hub for the community. Construction for the infrastructure began in 2005 and is continuing.

Where to Live & Real Estate Values
There is a neighborhood for just about anyone in Nocatee. Most of these neighborhoods are being developed by nationally know builders - they  include Austin Parks, Coastal Oaks (Toll Brothers), Riverwood (Del Webb), Tidewater, and Willow Cove (David Weekley). 
Prices range from the $100's to much more, depending on neighborhood.

What is special about this retirement community
Nocatee has a lot of things going for it. It is a new urban community that is designed to be walkable and livable. The Town Center is convenient and anchored by a large Publix. The Nocatee  Community Park and Splash Water Park provide entertainment and a place to socialize for all ages.

At this point the community is still being built out so there will be some growing pains and waits for certain components of the community.
