Peachtree City is a planned community about 25 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia. Although it is famous for its golf cart oriented transportation system, it is not a 55+ community - it is for people of all ages - the median age is 37.5. The population was about 35,000 in 2008. Peachtree City is actually made up of 4 separate communities: Aberdeen, Braelinn, Glenloch and Kedron. Each has its own shopping areas, recreational facilities, and elementary schools.
Peachtree City is one of the wealthiest towns in Georgia with an average income over $80,000 and a median home price of about $250,000 in early 2009.
The city's amenities include four swimming pools, a soccer complex, an ALTA-approved tennis center, baseball, softball, and football fields, a 2,000-seat amphitheater, a BMX track, a senior center, a teen center, numerous parks and playgrounds, as well as the Kedron Fieldhouse and Acquatic Center. |
