What Centreville is like for active adults

Centreville is a small town of just under 2000 people and the county seat of Queen Anne's County.  Located, not surprisingly, in the center of the state, it is a charming small town. It is home to one of the oldest courthouses in the country.

The old town has a plentiful stock of Victorian and other older homes with wrap-around porches, along with the interesting infrastructure of a town that goes back to colonial days. Picture of Centreville Courthouse courtesy of Wikipedia and S.W. Clyde.

Where to Live & Real Estate Values

Home prices were very volatile over the past few years, falling back dramatically to the low $200's in 2008 and then rising to over $300,000 in 2010. The median sale price in late 2013, was about $320,000 according to City-data.com.  It is easy to see why retiring baby boomers would be attracted to this town that is in a quiet area of Maryland close to the Cheseapeake. There is at least 1 active adult community in Centreville (see link at right).
