Plymouth Massachusetts is one of the most famous towns in America; it is here that the Pilgrims landed and successful European-American settlement began in 1620. The town is about 40 miles south of Boston and just above the beginning of Cape Cod on the Atlantic Ocean. Plymouth has over 50,000 residents. The area has experienced rapid population growth and is a major tourist destination.
