Plymouth : Massachusetts

What Plymouth is like for active adults
Plymouth Massachusetts is one of the most famous towns in America; it is here that the Pilgrims landed and successful European-American settlement began in 1620.  The town is about 40 miles south of Boston and just above the beginning of Cape Cod on the Atlantic Ocean. Plymouth has over 50,000 residents. The area has experienced rapid population growth and is a major tourist destination. It is also a great place to live with many very large ponds, including Long Pond.

Many active adults have chosen to move to Plymouth for its location on the ocean and quieter lifestyle. There are many waterfront homes in the area as well as cute old homes within the town. Outside of the town there are a large number of active adult communities that have beautiful settings near the water. Zillow's Home Value Index in mid-2009 was $266,700, about $20,000 less than the state average. There is a very wide choice in types and prices of housing, including active adult communities.
