| What Forked River is like for active adults |
Forked River is a small town of about 5400 along the New Jersey shore, just south of Toms River.
This area has experienced tremendous growth in the number of 55+ and active adult communities because of its location along the Jersey shore. Forked is pronounced in 2 syllables - "For' ked". Prices are somewhat lower than in the closer in NJ suburbs, so retirees can get more for their dollar here. Recreation and lifestyle are also good, particularly for people who like the beach, boating, and golf.
