Charlotte is a prosperous, very fast growing city of over 600,000 in south central North Carolina. The city's population increased 46% from 1990 to 2006. It has a thriving downtown commercial area fueled by the many banks and financial institutions headquartered here. it is a great place for retirement because there are many employment opportunities as well as developments geared who those 55+. UNC Charlotte, with 23,000 students, is located here.
Contrary to most of the country, real estate conditions in Charlotte have remained relatively strong until recently (Bank of America is one of the area's major employers). Median home selling price in Charlotte have been very stable; in the 2nd Q of 2009 it was $199,700. Keep in mind that there are so many housing choices that prices vary tremendously. |
