What Murphy is like for active adults
Murphy and the surrounding area is a great place for a second home or retirement. The town is small and quaint. There are several good restaurants and many shops. The climate is mild and the scenery is breathtaking. Mountains, lakes (several large ones), streams, heavily wooded. It's pretty inexpensive, especially land and homes. It's about the cheapest mountain community in North Carolina. The people are very friendly and the community is small and tight-knit. There are probably more retirees than locals at this point.
