| What Wake Forest is like for active adults |
Wake Forest is a very fast growing (up over 100% since 2000) town of 27,000 near Raleigh, NC. Wake Forest University was started here, but moved from here to Winston-Salem in 1956 (The Feb 10, 2010 Topretirements eNewsletter erroneously stated the University was still in Wake Forest). The Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary is located in Wake Forest. The town is near enough to the Research Triangle that high tech computer jobs are very important to the economy.
Where to Live Retirees make up a large percentage of the people moving here. They can live in town or in one of the many active adult communities in the Wake Forest area (see link to Active Adult Communities at top right).
Real Estate Prices Real estate prices have been very stable in Raleigh. The median selling price in Wake Forest had recovered to $250,000 by late 2009 (City-Data.com). Zillow suggests median sales prices were slightly lower than that. Photo of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary courtesy of Wikipedia and Ildar Sagdejev. |
