Edmond : Oklahoma

What Edmond is like for active adults
Edmonton is one of the fastest growing communities in Oklahoma and highly desirable as a place to live in retirement. It has been named as one of the best small towns in America and well as one of the "Top 100 Places to Live in 2007". About 11 miles from Oklahoma City, it is also a very desirable suburb.

The city encourages the outside display of art. The downtown center is vital with thriving shops and great bookstores like Best of Books.  Baby boomers in retirement can either live in mixed generation neighborhoods downtown, or in active adult communities which are being built in the area. The median selling price of a home in Oklahoma City in 2008's 3rd quarter was $132,000, one of the few markets in the country with higher prices than the year before (+1.6% ).  Prices in Edmond tend to be quite  a bit higher ($246,000)  given its desirability.
