What Grants Pass is like for active adults

Grants Pass is located in the enchanting Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon with the Rogue River running right through the middle of town. This wild river offers world class fishing and white water rafting. The surrounding area abounds with opportunities for hiking, sight seeing, and skiing. Grants Pass, which has a rapidly growing population of just under 35,000, became a popular tourist center since the timber industry has declined in importance. People who talk about Grants Pass say that it is a friendly place with a moderate cost of living. Photo of boat above is courtesy of Wikipedia.org and M.D. Vaden

What is not special about this retirement community

If you are not an outdoors person you may feel out of place in Grants Pass. It is a long way to a big city. A 17' statue of a cavemen is a controversial icon many would like to see removed. See "Caveman" story in Wall Street Journal.
