With its indoor heated swimming pool, fitness center and expansive, green campus, Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community in Cranberry Township is planning for the next generation of retirees. The retirement community opened in 1982 after careful planning by a grassroots effort of retirees who wanted to give themselves and their friends the option to stay in the Pittsburgh area during their retirement. After years of studying other communities, they patterned Sherwood Oaks after the best of what they had observed during their travels.
Today, the retirement community has a renovated Community Center, an expanded wellness program, more dining options and is currently providing services to the next generation of retirees, including:

Pricing and Other Details
As a Type A retirement community, Sherwood Oaks has an entrance fee and a monthly fee that we use to pay for your residence and health care. Entrance fees start in the $60s and increase with the size of residence. Monthly fees start around $2,000 per month and also increase with the size of residence. Sherwood Oaks is an all inclusive retirement community, meaning monthly fees remain unchanged when you receive care in the nursing center (you will be charged for two additional meals per day).
Because part of your monthly fee is considered a pre-payment of health care, approximately $17,000 per year can be claimed as a medical expense on federal income taxes. Call (800) 642-2217 for information on current prices. |
