Duncanville offers an array of activities for active adults from arts to entertainment to recreation. The D.L. Hopkins Senior Center hosts an annual variety show each year where participants from the Senior Center act, dance and sing entertaining the whole community. Also, Duncanville boasts a community theatre, which hosts six shows a year. There are opportunities for active seniors to play tennis, enjoy the beautiful walking trails, the library and recreation center, dancing and musical lessons, and great local restaurants.
The Texas Historical Commission designated the City of Duncanville as an official Main Street City. When the Duncanville Air Force Base closed it was turned over to the city, which is now where the Duncanville Historical Park is located. Duncanville is a suburb of Dallas, southwest of the city near Joe Pool Lake. Average home prices according to Zillow.com are about $145,000.

The City has only about 38,000 residents so it appeals to those that like a country, small town atmosphere with the amenitites of big cities such as an indoor, heated swimming facility, over 1,000 businesses to shop at, access to Joe Pool Lake and close proximity to Dallas and Fort Worth attractions. |

Duncanville is known for its flowers and seasonal decorations that dot the main intersections and throughfares from Fall Harvest to Lighted Christmas trees to Fourth of July flags. At the heart of Duncanville is Armstrong Park which is home to the the butterfly, perenial and Earth Kind Rose Gardens. |

Seven miles away is Renaissance Hospital and Methodist Dallas Medical Center that has approximately 300 physicians in 60 medical specialties.
