What Seal Beach is like for active adults
Seal Beach is  a small city of 24,000 in Orange County, California.  It is south of Los Angeles and Long Beach on the Pacific. There is good surfing, a  very long pier, and a marina. The Leisure World retirement community, with its 9,000 residents, is a large part of the city. It is claimed that Seal Beach was the first major planned retirement community in the U.S., although Sun City, Arizona might dispute that. The small gated community of Surfside Colony is also part of Seal Beach. Boeing is the largest employer. There is a Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach.
