Wallingford : Connecticut

What Wallingford is like for active adults
Wallingford is an old New England town that dates back to 1694. It was formerly a center for silver manufacturing, along with nearby Meriden.  Wallingford has an active and charming downtown center, as well as a very successful commercial strip along Route 5.  The town has long been home to one of the country's most prestigious prep schools - Choate-Rosemary Hall.  The school's most famous graduate is John F. Kennedy, whose fellow alumni include Adlai Stevenson, John Dos Passos, and actors and actresses too numerous to mention.

There are active adult communities in the area. Median home price was about $240,000 in late 2009. Photo of antique postcard of Library and Marlborough House courtesy of Wikipedia.
