What it's Like to Retire in San Ramon

San Ramon, Costa Rica is a small village being developed with several retirement communities popular with American expatriates. The town is about a 45 minute drive from great beaches. The town is an area with sweeping views of the mountains and the coast. The climate is pleasant year round. The city lies at an elevation of 1,057 meters above sea level in the Cordillera de Tilarán. While retaining its rich heritage and tradition, San Ramón continues to serve as a link between the agricultural communities further north in the Meseta Central and the central cities of San Jose, Alajuela, Heredia, and Cartago. It is 58 km from the capital of San Jose. For more about retiring to this beautiful country see our retirement guide to Costa Rica.

San Ramon is a medium sized city with all services available, groceries, doctors, dentists, Internet Cafes, bakeries, banks, hardware stores, 3 screen cinema and a BBQ joint with draft beer. Photo of San Ramon Parque courtesy of Wikipedia.
