What it's Like to Retire in Grayslake

Grayslake is a village of about 21,000 about 40 miles north of Chicago. It iis  home to the College of Lake County, the University Center of Lake County and the Lake County Fairgrounds.  There are several lakes in town including the largest, Grays Lake.  The village has several very nice parks including Central Park, an aquatic center, and a relatively new and large library building. Where to Retire in Grayslake and Home Prices

There are active adult and senior communities in the area (see link at top right). The median price of a home in mid 2011 was about $160,000, just below the national median.
 

What is special about Grayslake

The lakes in town are nice for swimming and skating. The College of Lake County and its 5800 students are a nice addition to this affluent town.
