Phelps is a very small town of about 1,000 people in eastern Kentucky near the borders of Virginia and West Virginia. Pikeville and Williamson are the nearest towns. Many people like retiring here because it is quiet, the mountains are near, and the cost of living is very low.

Climate and Physical Environment

Phelps is on the eastern border of Kentucky near West Virginia and Virginia. The average January low temperature is 24 and the average July high is 89. The wettest month is August, which has just over 4" of rain.
 

Restaurants & Cultural Scene

The town is so small you will want to go to Pikeville or further for your cultural fix.
