What The Kentlands is like
The Kentlands is a neighborhood in the city of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and is known as one of the first attempts to develop a Traditional Neighborhood, or New Urbanism. The development began in 1988 and today consists of approximately 1,800 homes in sub-neighborhoods with a variety of housing styles and prices, including single family homes, cottages, townhouses, condominiums, and rental apartments. The Kentlands also has a system of artificial lakes, and jogging trails that run through the parks. Commercial areas, swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, performance spaces, and a large clubhouse, are all within walking distance.
