Where to Live & Real Estate Values

There are active adult communities here and in neighboring Portsmouth (see Active Communities link at right). The median value of a home had rebounded to between $250,000 and $300,000 in mid 2012.  Real estate taxes are high in NH and in Durham, with the median payment here being over $6,000. However there is no sales tax, and wages are not taxed (interest and dividends are taxed at 5%).
