What Brick Township is like for active adults
Brick Township incorporates several towns in Ocean County New Jersey above Toms River. Parts of the township are inland while others are on the Barnegat Peninsula.  Many retirees are escaping suburban New York and New Jersey to move to this less dense part of the State by the Jersey shore. 

tBrick Township has easy access to the Big Apple (New York City) but prides itself on its small-town charm. The 32-square-mile city, with a population of just over 78,000, hovers consistently around the top of the list of America’s safest cities, according to the FBI. Newsmax.com called it one of the 25 "Most Uniquely American Cities" in 2009.

A plethora of active adult and 55+ communities have been built in this area (see link at top right).  Average home price according to Zillow.com was just over $300,000 in early 2009.
