Situated in the middle of North Carolina is the rapidly growing town of Garner, about 8 miles from Raleigh.  Garner is both a suburb and a small town. There are plenty of recreational activities with its nearby lake.

Real estate prices have held up well in the recession, averaging over $160,000 in 2009's 2nd quarter.  There are active adult communities in the area (see link at top right).
