Greensboro is a medium sized city of 280,000 in northern North Carolina. It is considered one of the 3 cities in the Triad along with Winston-Salem and High Point. Greensboro has an active and well-diversified infrastructure with many big name companies located here. The city is known for it beauty, much of which came from the city's early success as a cotton and merchandising capital. Downtown life has improved with many restaurants, bars, and new projects like the New Bridge Park Park and Elon University Law School.  The ultra-modern Proximity Hotel and its solar panel clad exterior  are emblematic of the progressive nature of this city today. Where to Retire in Greensboro and Home Prices

The Aycock and Fisher Park neighborhoods were established in the late 1800's to early 1900's. The Aycock neighborhood features large Queen Anne residences of the turn-of-the-twentieth century, as well as Foursquare, Craftsman, and Colonial Revival styles. Irving Park surrounds the Greensboro Country Club which was loosely modeled after Pinehurst and offers very gracious homes.

The median home price in Greensboro/High Point was $159,800 in the 2nd quarter of 2015, according to the National Association of Realtors. That figure is well below the national median of $229,400.

The average January temperature is in the high  30's. Greensboro is in the northern part of the state.

There are quite a few good restaurants to choose from in the downtown area.  Greensboro is home to a very large population of Vietnamese Montagnards; their restaurants are a local attraction. Boba House offers Vegan food. Some of the cultural attractions include Carolina Theater, Pyrle Gibson Theater, Blandwood Mansion, Greensboro Historical Museum, Greensboro Cultural Center, the Civil Rights Museum, and the Greensboro Children's Museum.
