Grants Pass is nestled in the enchanting Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon with the Rogue River running right through the middle of town. This wild river offers world class fishing and rafting as well as other water activities. The surrounding area abounds with opportunities for hiking, sight seeing, and skiing. Grants Pass, which has a population of just under 25,000, is a popular tourist center.
The average home price in mid 2008 was about $225,000, which slipped to about $180,000 by the 2nd quarter of 2009. There are active adult communities in the area.
