McCormick is a very tiny town in western South Carolina near the Georgia border. Its population is about 1500. McCormick is a very low cost place to retire. Its other attraction is the presence of Lake Thurmon, one of the county's largest man-made lakes.
There is at least one active adult community in McCormick (see link at top right). The average home price here is considerably less than $100,000.
McCormick is located on beautiful Lake Thurmond in northwestern South Carolina near the Georgia border. The average July high temperature is 95 and the average January low is 31. The wettest month is March (5").
