Lacey is a city of about 42,000 people in west central Washington. Originally an agricultural and timber based town, the economy is a bit more diverse now. St.Martin's University, a coed and Catholic university with about 1500 students, is located here. Lacey was designated an official "Green Power Community" by the EPA for its use of renewable energy sources; 5% of its total energy use comes from green power sources. Some people commute from Lacey to jobs in Olympia or Fort Lewis. Picture of Saint Martin's University courtesy of Wikipedia and Gregg M. Erickson.
