| Milwaukee is a large and old city on Lake Michigan. It is the most populous city in the state with about 600,000 residents. Famous for beer, manufacturing and baseball, it has had a resurgence as both a tourist destination and place to live. Some of the important recent additions to the city include the Milwaukee Riverwalk, the Frontier Airlines Center, Miller Park, an internationally renowned addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, and Pier Wisconsin. | Where to Live & Real Estate Values |
| There are many old neighborhoods in Milwaukee, some of which have become gentrified such as Lincoln Village and Bay View. Homes in areas near the lake are often quite beautiful. According to the National Association of Realtors the median selling price in late 2011 was $192,000, considerably above the national average. |
